Public Lecture by Tieri Berishvili – History of Leuville Estate of Georgia
At 4 pm on December 1, the Library of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University will host a public lecture “History of Leuville Estate of Georgia” by Tieri Berishvili, the President of France-Georgia cultural relations association Viva La Georgie.
The lecture will focus on a number of issues, among them the purchase of the Leuville Estate in France by the Government of Georgian Democratic Republic in 1922; creation of Georgian political and cultural emigration center in the Leuville Estate; activities of Georgian emigrants in the Leuville Estate as well as 84-year history of the estate. The final part of the lecture will be dedicated to 24-year history of negotiations on the transfer of the Leuville Estate to Georgia.
The lecture will be followed by a discussion.
