Nicholas Nugent to Deliver Public Lecture “Deliberate Lie or Fake against Qualitative Journalism”
Nicholas Nugent, BBC editor and journalist, will deliver a public lecture “Deliberate Lie or Fake against Qualitative Journalism” at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University
at 3pm on February 13. The lecture will cover the issues of fighting fake news.
The lecture will be held within the framework of the EU Prize for Journalism. The EU Prize for Journalism, established in 2012, acknowledges journalistic works that have contributed to promoting a better understanding of the values of the European Union and reflect high standards of journalistic ethics and professionalism. Each year prizes are awarded for the best works in print, broadcast, online, and photo journalism. In addition, the EU Monitoring Mission will award a special prize in peace journalism.
