Summer School “International and National Standards of Fighting against Trade in Human Beings (Trafficking)”
Summer school “International and National Standards of Fighting against Trade in Human Beings (Trafficking)” was held at Borjomi Palace Hotel from July 29 to August 1. The summer school was organized by the International Law Institute (Tbilisi State University), European Human Rights Law Institute (EHRLI) and East-West Management Institute (EWMI).
During the summer school, human trafficking was discussed in the context of criminal law and human rights. Participants gained in-depth knowledge on legal instruments developed in frames of the Council of Europe and the United Nations as well as practical mechanisms of their implementation. A moot court was also organized in frames of the summer school.
The event was supported by the EU-funded project. A total of 34 BA, MA and PhD students from various universities participated in it. The educational part of the summer school was led by Academician Levan Aleksidze, Professors of International Law Institute Irine Kurdadze and Ketavan Khutsishvili, as well as invited lecturer, Doctor of Law Marina Meskhi.
