Konrad-AdenauerStiftung Scholarships for TSU Students

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung will award scholarships to 10 students of English-language MA in European Studies program of the TSU Institute for European Studies. The studies of the top-ranked students enrolled at MA in European Studies program in 2020 will be financed fully during the fall semester. George Sharvashidze,Rector of Tbilisi State University, and Thomas Schrapel, Director of the KAS Regional Programme Political Dialogue South Caucasus, discussed the issues related to awarding scholarships and bilateral cooperation. 
Nino Lapiashvili, director of TSU Institute for European Studies, said that the Institute has been successfully cooperating with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung for several years. “The scholarship program designed for the students of English-language MA in European Studies program, firstly, emphasizes the importance of EU studies for Georgia and secondly, it represents an important assistance provided to the education sphere that aims at mitigating negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Nino Lapiashvili said. 
Thomas Schrapel, Director of the KAS Regional Programme Political Dialogue South Caucasus, said that one of the Foundation’s priorities is to assist Georgia in coming closer to the European Union. He said that the Foundation decided to award scholarships to Georgian students, as well as to students from Eastern Partnership countries that ultimately aims at supporting Georgia on its European path. 
MA in EuropeanStudies program was launched in 2007 with the EU financial support and it has a 100% graduate employment rate.
