Spring School “International Legal Standards for Human Rights" for Law Students
On March 26-28, 2018 the third annual spring school, organized by Institute of International Law of Tbilisi State University and European Law and Human Rights International Law Institute within the project supported by the European Union the third annual spring school "International Legal Standards for Human Rights" was held in Borjomi. This years school was held within the cycle of events dedicated to the TSU 100th anniversary.
Among participant were students from the 3rd and 4th year of the Bachelors degree from International Law Program and beneficiaries of 1+ 4 program of the Faculty of Law. The event was led by Member of Georgian Academy of Sciences, professor Levan Aleksidze, Professor Irine Kurdadze, Associate Professor Eka Siradze, PhD student Tamar Aleksidze. The goal of the school is to raise awareness among future lawyers about the effectiveness of international human rights protection mechanisms.
Within the framework of school the issues of Establishing Human Right system under umbrella of United Nations (prof. L. Alexidze), Influence of migration processes on the ethnical Map of Georgia (prof. I. Kurdadze), Minority Rights and some definitions under International Law (prof. I. Kurdadze), Human Rights protection in the International law of the Sea (associate professor E. Siradze), anti discrimination standards of ECtHR (PhD student T. Alexidze) were presented and discussed. Participants were awarded with certificates.
