The problems of launching and developing entrepreneurship were discussed by Georgian and foreign experts at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU). TSU Deputy Rector, Marine Chitashvili, academic staff, students and invited guests attended the event.
The topic of the 3rd economic-political forum Tbilisi Balcony was entrepreneurship. The following persons delivered speeches at the forum: Günter Faltin, Professor of Economics at the Free University of Berlin and founder of Teekampagne; Norbert Kunz, founder of IQ Consult, an agency for social innovation and enterprise based in Berlin; Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Weng from Technical University of Berlin, Co-Director of Georgian-German Institute for Economic Policy and Economic Education, etc. A presentation of the Georgian version of the book “Brain versus Capital” by Günter Faltin published by TSU Publishing House was also held on the sideline of the forum.
Dean of the TSU Faculty of Economic and Business, Teimuraz Beridze said that “entrepreneurship is the basis of market economy. Entrepreneurship does not only mean the management of an enterprise or a company regardless of how large it may be. Entrepreneurship, first and foremost, means innovation in economy. We listened to a very interesting report by Günter Faltin, who is a famous economist and theorist, as well as a famous entrepreneur. Respectively, he himself represents a phenomenon – integration of entrepreneurship and innovation. His lecture is not merely a recommendation, but it is his opinion about entrepreneurship and in which direction it is developing throughout the world.”
“The key goal of this event is to help companies understand the entrepreneurship principles, to ensure that they know how to found and manage a company. All these requires special knowledge, special approaches. Today it is very easy to establish a company, because there are Internet and international relations; capital no more represents a deterring factor for the company. So, we have an excellent opportunity to engage as many people in the sphere of entrepreneurship as possible,” Professor Günter Faltin said.
The 3rd international economic-political forum Tbilisi Balcony was organized by the Department of Economic Policy of the TSU Faculty of Economics and Business and the Georgian-German Institute for Economic Policy and Economic Education.
