Student Forum
An annual student forum dedicated to Ivane Javakhishvili’s memory was opened at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. TSU Rector, Academician Vladimer Papava, students and professors attended the event.
TSU Rector, Academician Vladimer Papava, said: “Science forum dedicated to Ivane Javakhishvili’s memory is still underway. Today BA and MA students presented their research papers. Similar forums will be held annually. Prizes will be awarded to students for their scientific achievements.”
“My topic is about company law, in particular, non-payment of dividends as a restriction of small shareholder’s property rights. I am glad and I express my gratitude to the university for appreciating an academic value of my work,” Ana Tokhadze, MA student from the Faculty of Law, said.
“The title of my work presented at the forum is “Six-Dimensional Membrane World.” It was an experiment and I am still working on this issue. I have already published several articles on this issue in journals with impact factor,” Otar Sakhelashvili, BA student from the Physics direction of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, said.
“The topic of my work is “Negative Impact of Stigma on Academic Achievements in Ethnic Minorities.” I have passed the course on stigma at the university about how negative stereotypes influence ethnic minorities. We got interested about how it works in Georgian reality and decided to reexamine the research conducted abroad. We received quite interesting results. I am glad that the faculty commission also liked our work,” Tamar Chkheidze, MA student from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, noted.
The best research papers selected by the faculty commissions were read out at the forum by the authors – TSU students. Each faculty presented one work prepared by the students from all the three steps. The authors of papers received certificates and pecuniary awards - GEL 500 for BA students and GEL 1000 for MA students.
The student forum will end on April 25. PhD students will present their research papers on this day.
