TSU Rector Giorgi Sharvashidze said that it is one of the student projects that was funded under the new grant system. “I am glad that a lot of discoveries have been made and our guests will have an opportunity to view them today. I think that it is a very successful project; similar activities will be beneficial for our students as they will help them come closer to the field, to their future profession,” he said.

TSU Assistant Professor Giorgi Dvalishvili noted that geoecological research of natural monuments was carried out in Chiatura; moreover, new tourist routes were created and one of the new karst caves discovered. “The materials collected by students during their fieldwork will be released in a form of a book; this book will make traveling to Chiatura Municipality easier for local self-government and all interested persons,” Giorgi Dvalishvili said.

Our goal was to popularize these monuments and acquaint the population with still unknown Chiatura,” Liana Khandolishvili, the project manager, said.
