“Literary Kiev” Today

The International Literary Congress dedicated to the 200th birth anniversary of Taras Shevchenko was held at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev.

Professor Irma Ratiani, director of the Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature, and Irine Modebadze, translator and research fellow from the same institute, participated in the event.

Over one hundred foreign guests were invited to the congress, however only ten of them arrived, including four Georgians.

By the end of the congress, the guests were awarded the Taras Shevchenko Order for Scientific Courage and Dedication to Ukrainian Culture.
