"Promoting Migration Studies in Higher Education"
Within the framework of Erasmus + Project: "Promoting Migration Studies in Higher Education" (PROMIG)
On 17-18 February 2017 Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University will host Kick off Meeting.
Opening speeches will be delivered by: Dr.Giorgi Sharvashidze – Rector of Tbilisi State University, Professor Levan Alexidze – Director of the Institute of International Law and Dr. Lika Glonti – Head of National Erasmus + Office, Georgia.
Project aims at development of cooperation on cross regional level and internationalization of higher educational institutions by the way of transferring skills in teaching interdisciplinary field of migration studies.
Primary motivation of consortium member institutions is to build capacity in higher educational institutions in partner countries as well as to better analyze the core reasons of increased migration flows from non-EU countries to the European Union and give up to date information about the migration management related situation in countries of origin and destination through expanding the scope of academic cooperation on cross regional level.
Developing training modules for different target groups of audiences and acquiring new knowledge in contemporary methods of researching migration constitutes yet another remarkable project output.
All main outputs of the project aim at creating the possibility for modernization of higher educational systems in respective partner countries by the way of cooperating with EU partners and adapting the experience shared to the existing realities in Armenia, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
