A solemn MA graduation ceremony was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) on September 15. Over 1000 students completed their master’s degrees. Rector of TSU, Giorgi Sharvashidze, members of the Academic Council, faculty deans, academics and invited guests attended the event.
Rector Giorgi Sharvashidze said that the graduates have completed an important stage in their life. “I hope that all of you will be successful and the university graduation will become a success formula for you,” he addressed the graduates.
Davit Gogichaishvili, a TSU alumnus, also addressed the graduates. “When we say the word ‘success’, we have an individual explanation of this word everywhere. But let me share three definitions of success: you are successful, when your success is useful for others too. You are successful, when you do what you love with your heart; and the third, it is a relationship between success and happiness. The fact that you have acquired lifetime friends at TSU already is a success and happiness,” Davit Gogichaishvili said.
Omiko Ejibia, who graduated master’s degree program with excellence, plans to continue his studies at the Tbilisi State University. “Today we have become masters. I wish everyone success, as well as happy and interesting life. Master’s Program in Arabic Studies proved very interesting for me and therefore, I plan to continue toward the doctorate degree. I hope that one day I will become TSU Professor,” Omiko Ejibia said.
TSU Art and male vocal ensemble University performed an original version of student hymn Gaudeamus.
Over 200 accredited educational programs, including 95 master’s degree programs, are implemented at seven faculties of TSU with over 20 000 students undergoing their studies there.
