TSU among Best Global Universities
Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) is ranked 359th in Best Global Universities Rankings 2018, according to U.S. News & World Report.
The overall Best Global Universities rankings encompass the top 1,250 institutions spread across 74 countries – up from the top 1,000 universities in 65 countries ranked last year.
These institutions have been ranked based on 13 indicators that measure their academic research performance and their global and regional reputations. Ranking indicators include global research reputation; regional research reputation, publications; books; conferences; normalized citation impact; total citations; number of publications that are among the 10 percent most cited; percentage of total publications that are among the 10 percent most cited; percentage of total publications that are among the top 1 percent most highly cited papers, etc. The survey is also built on academics’ opinions about world universities, their views of programs in the disciplines with which they were familiar.
The United States is leading among best global universities with 221 universities; Harvard University has been listed first in the rankings. Georgia is represented in the rankings by Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, which is ranked 359th with a 49.6 global score. TSU comes ahead of a number of famous universities, among them the Universities of Warsaw, Bordeaux, Giessen, etc.
U.S. News & World Report believes that since an increasing number of students plan to enroll in universities outside of their own country, the Best Global Universities rankings – which focus specifically on schools’ academic research and reputation overall and not on their separate undergraduate or graduate programs – can help those applicants accurately compare institutions around the world. https://www.usnews.com/education/best-global-universities/search?country=georgia&name=ivane+javakhishvili+tbilisi+state+university
