ABET Experts at TSU
Two programs implemented by the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) - Electrical and Electronic Engineering (program head - Prof. G. Gvedashvili) and Computer Science (programs heads – Professors K. Gelashvili; M. Khachidze; A. Gamkrelidze and G. Sirbiladze) will receive international ABET accreditation in 2019.
Millennium Challenge Georgia Fund (MCG) organized the visit of ABET experts, Professors Joe Turner and Franc Noel to Tbilisi, who held a conclusive meeting with Ramaz Khomeriki and Kenneth Walsh, deans of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences and San Diego State University Georgia, respectively. The Department of Computer Science and the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering developed self-study reports, amendments to curricula and other documents necessary for ABET accreditation. All these documents were comprehensively discussed during the experts’ visit and particular remarks and recommendations were provided. The experts noted progress and stressed that an ambitious plan for the programs to receive ABET accreditation in 2019 is achievable.
