TSU, Grant Thornton Sign Memorandum of Cooperation

Students of business administration program of the TSU Faculty of Economics and Business will undergo internships at Grant Thornton, the worlds largest professional services network of independent accounting and consulting member firms. A relevant Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by George Sharvashidze, rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Vakhtang Tsabadze, managing partner at Grant Thornton and Ketevan Gambashidze, director of the company, on December 5. In the framework of the Memorandum, Grant Thornton will participate in various educational projects. Moreover, excellent BA and MA students from the TSU Faculty of Economics and Business will be awarded the Grant Thornton scholarship.  
Dean of the TSU Faculty of Economics and Business, Giorgi Gaganidze said that the Memorandum signed with Grant Thornton further increases students’ employment opportunities following their graduation. “Relations with the leading companies are very important for students in terms of their internship opportunities. The company will allocate funding for the best students in a form of scholarships that will be a very good incentive for them,” the Dean said.

Vakhtang Tsabadze, managing partner at Grant Thornton, said that TSU students will have both internship and employment opportunities at the company. “We believe that it is very important for professional development. The country is advancing with the support of students,” he noted.
The company Grant Thornton is the largest international accounting company with about 50 000 employees in over 130 countries worldwide.
