After the Empire: the Collapse of Communism and Beyond 3-week programme in cooperation with the University of Latvia introduces the challenges and achievements of social, economic and political reforms in the Baltic States and their past, present and future impacts on local as well as on international scale.

After the Empire: the Collapse of Communism and Beyond 2-week programme in cooperation with the University of Latvia introduces the crucial changes in two Baltic societies, brought up by the collapse of communism.

1-14 July in Riga and Tallinn

European Encounters: Diversity and Integrations from West to East in cooperation with the Utrecht University’s Summer School will study both the development towards a united Europe and the enduring diversity of national policy, law and geopolitical background that the member states have to deal with in the process of European integration.

1-28 July in Utrecht, Tartu and Pärnu

Juri Lotman and the Semiotics of Culture offers deeper understanding of cultural mechanisms and a set of tools for practical analysis of culture – cultural texts as well as cultural processes – that would afford new insights into contemporary cultural dynamics. Scholarships available.

2-13 July in Tartu

Social Dimension: Estonian Business Environment, EU-Russian Relations and Baltic Regional Security will give an overview of Estonia’s efficient transformation from state-controlled economic system into free market economy. Matters of foreign policies of the countries of the Baltic Sea region and the ever-changing EU-Russian relations illustrate the complexity of Estonian development.

Craft Camp introduces Estonian handicraft by giving an overview of traditional handicraft techniques from Estonia and to learn the modern usage of those techniques.

Estonian Language on different levels according to the language skills. Scholarships available.

23 July - 3 August  in Tartu

7th Martens Summer School on International Law  deals with the comparative aspects of international law and human rights, focusing particularly on the issues related to Russia and Eurasia.

23-27 July  in Pärnu

Asia and the Middle-East: Differences and Commonalities is interdisciplinary and future oriented. Our aim is to teach students to understand, analyse and predict developments in Asia and the Middle East. Scholarships available.

13–25 August in Tartu

Educational Change in Times of Rapid Technological Innovation examine the development of technology-enhanced teaching and learning in the digital era and introduce different innovative ways of implementing technology-enhanced activities in education. Scholarships available.
