Cooperation between Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Friedrich Schiller University Jena started in 1963 when the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Currently, the partnership is being implemented through bilateral exchange programs, within the framework of the EU-funded Erasmus+ program and various institutional projects and individual initiatives. The above-mentioned programs and projects are aimed at supporting the mobility of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students, the university academic and administrative staff, as well as promoting institutional and organizational development.
