The Center for Law and Economics was opened at Tbilisi Open University on May 1, in frames of mutual cooperation between the Law Faculty of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Tbilisi Open University.
Rector of TSU, Giorgi Sharvashidze; Minister of Education and Science, Mikheil Chkhenkeli; Deputy Chair of the Supreme Court, Mzia Todua; Chairman of Georgian Bar Association, Davit Asatiani, representatives of academic circles, judges and lawmakers attended the event.
The Center is supported by Georgian Bar Association and High Council of Justice of Georgia. The Center for Law and Economics will also be opened at the Tbilisi State University in the near future.
The Center for Law and Economics aims at studying legislative, scientific and practical processes ongoing in the field of law and economic policy, reacting effectively to the problems and challenges, informing the public and acquainting addressees with research results.
The mission of the Center is to create the environment for interdisciplinary discussion and generation of ideas on important issues of law and economic policy with the involvement of scientists, practitioners and students.
