Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), George Sharvashidze participated in the webinar “What Lessons are We Learning from COVID-19” organized by the Magna Charta Observatory.
Speakers of the webinar focused on several topics: What are the new challenges facing the universities globally amid the coronavirus pandemic? What are the responsibilities students and university representatives must assume amid the pandemic? Has the pandemic affected the rights and responsibilities of students and staff? Has it affected universities’ fundamental values?
Eva Egron Polak, Member of MCO Governing Council and former Secretary General of the International Association of Universities, and Francesco Ubertini, Rector of the University of Bologna and President of the Magna Charta Observatory participated in the webinar. Sijbolt Noorda, President of the Governing Council of the Magna Charta Observatory, acted as a moderator.
Over 400 representatives of almost all European universities attended the webinar, which was conducted via Zoom platform.
