Along with other remarkable and anniversary editions, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) will present the first English-language edition of the National Atlas of Georgia at Frankfurt Book Fair. The edition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of TSU and it will be presented at Frankfurt Book Fair in frames of the report by President of the University of Giessen, Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee dedicated to the Georgian-German scientific relations.
The National Atlas of Georgia involves over 100 maps, graphics and photos. It represents an updated version of the Georgian-language Atlas released in 2012. Thematic maps of human geography have been completely updated.
Rector of TSU, George Sharvashidze explained that the Atlas released in Germany, where Georgia is presented within its internationally recognized borders, “will be an important scientific and educational resource for all students and scientists interested in our country.”
The publication was prepared by the TSU Vakhushti Bagrationi Institute of Geography in partnership with the Department of Geography at Justus Liebig University Giessen. The publication of the National Atlas of Georgia was co-financed by the German side.
TSU will present over 50 scientific books, translations and scientific periodicals at Frankfurt Book Fair.
