Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), Giorgi Sharvashidze, Head of TSU Administration, Nunu Ovsyannikova and Director General of the University Clinic, Nino Nadiradze signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between TSU and Vivamed Ltd on February 15. The Memorandum aims to improve learning of clinical disciplines, to develop skills of young specialists and expand academic activities on a clinical base.
Rector Giorgi Sharvashidze focused on the importance of the Memorandum of Cooperation, saying that “a very important memorandum has been signed with Vivamed Clinic. It will enable our students to undergo internships in a modern clinical environment, to get involved in the activities associated with their profession; it is a good opportunity for educating good professionals at the Tbilisi State University.”
“It is very important that signing of the Memorandum between the Tbilisi State University and Vivamed coincided with the date marking TSU’s 100th anniversary. TSU requested high-standard cooperation from our clinic. When we finally made sure that we were ready for receiving students, we signed the agreement,” Director General of the University Clinic, Nino Nadiradze said.
Dean of the TSU Faculty of Medicine, Dimitri Kordzaia said: “A new important force and impetus has been added to the potential of the TSU Faculty of Medicine – Vivamed Clinic, which has the status of the University Clinic, has become a partner of our university. The infrastructure of Vivamed Clinic, the diversity of its departments and its personnel with pedagogical experience provide an opportunity for strengthening our students’ potential. It concerns not only Georgian students, but also those foreign students, who are presently studying at the Faculty of Medicine.”
Under the Memorandum, the University Clinic will help TSU medical students and residents undergo relevant courses. The personnel of the University Clinic, its medical equipment and all necessary resources will be involved as well.
